first_imgA GROUP of Donegal women have bared almost all for a charity calendar – and are set to do it for real again this Sunday! The eight women from Donegal Town and Glenties have posed for a dozen daring pictures for a 2013 calendar which they hope will raise thousands of euro for charity. And this Sunday some of them will be ‘on display’ in the window of Magees in the Diamond in Donegal Town hoping to raise even more money. Roberta Gillen persuaded other shop workers in the town centre to bare almost all for the saucy snaps. But the fun shoots around Co Donegal were sparked by tragedy.“The money raised will go to Living Links which helps familes affected by suicide and to the Oncology Unit at Letterkenny General Hospital,” said Roberta, who works in Foody’s deli in the town.“A friend of mine took his own life and I recently lost a relative to cancer so I wanted to raise some money for good local charities. “I’m a big fan of Gok Wan and his programme ‘How To Look Good Naked’ and I thought we can do that,” she laughed.Photographer Paul McGinty from Ghorm Studio in Donegal: “I tried to take pictures inspired by famous scenes and it really worked. The ladies were absolutely brilliant to work with. We had a lot of fun doing it.”Pictured are Roberta, Centra worker Theresa Murphy, Maggie Murphy from Magee’s, Joy Peat (retired), counsellor Mary McLaughlin, Donegal hospital worker Lorraine Rourke, Kay Latimore from the Country Market, Charelle Bell who has since moved to Australia, and Paula McMullan, an ‘outsider’ from Glenties and organiser of the Melting Pot Festival.DONEGAL CALENDAR GIRLS SET TO BARE (ALMOST) ALL AGAIN was last modified: October 27th, 2012 by BrendaShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:DONEGAL CALENDAR GIRLS SET TO BARE (ALMOST) ALL AGAINlast_img read more
