Animal Adventure gives wild experience with drive-thru zoo

first_img“Between being nice for all of to get out and see them, I think the animals really enjoyed it to, being able to see people,” said guest Ronda Ruff. Amidst a pandemic, the park says a drive-thru safari was the only option during the current reopening plan in New York. Animal Adventure would fall under phase four of the reopening plan, which also includes outdoor theaters, stadiums and other large gathering spaces. New York is currently in phase one, with no exact timeline for future phases. For $10 a rider, cars snake their way through the exhibits where there are dozens of animals to see. Guests also agree it’s nice to get out of the quarantine routine. HARPURSVILLE (WBNG) — Like many other businesses, Animal Adventure is getting creative to connect exotic animals with people, except it’s all from the comfort of your car. center_img “I saw a snake, a lion, a hyena. I liked it, it was really fun,” said Liam Ives, a guest visiting the park with his family. The park is open Thursdays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information on animals, health practices and pricing, head over to their website. “We weren’t able to turn off the lights, shut the doors and go home. Our animals need to be cared for, our people still needed to work,” said Animal Adventure Park Owner Jordan Patch. “We’ve been chugging along, we’ve been doing the best we can with the budgets we have. This is a blessing.” last_img read more

Today’s Daily Fantasy Baseball Rankings: Best starting pitchers, streamers for Friday, June 7

first_imgWatch ChangeUp, a new MLB live whip-around show on DAZNAs far as values, Brandon Woodruff (vs. Pirates) seems far too cheap, especially on DK, and Tyler Mahle (@ Phillies) isn’t a bad boom-or-bust tournament option. Marcus Stroman (vs. D-backs) is also underpriced. Both Michael Pineda (@ Tigers) and Merrill Kelly (vs. Blue Jays) are in great spots matchup-wise and dirt cheap (at least on FD for Kelly), but you know both carry risk. We’re gearing up for a 14-game main MLB DFS slate on Friday night, and the pitching options are strong, at least at the very top. There are a couple strong value sleepers who will likely be popular as SP2s on DraftKings, but chancesa re you’ll see many pay up for one of the top aces on FanDuel. Either way, our daily rankings can help point you in the right direction. The top five in our rankings — who also happen to be five of the most expensive SPs on eithe site — should all be highly owned. There is one obvious fade on the slate, though, and that’s Matthew Boyd (vs. Twins). Boyd is priced as the SP5 on FD and SP4 on DK, and he’s facing a brutal matchup. Boyd has the stuff to still pay off, so being contrarian with him in GPPs isn’t a bad strategy, but clearly you’re not getting any breaks here. There does not appear to be any weather issues at all tonight, but check the Fantasy Alarm Weather Center closer to lineup lock for the latest reports.MORE FRIDAY MLB: DFS picks | Betting picksToday’s Daily Fantasy Baseball Pitcher Rankings: Friday, June 7RankPitcherTeamOpponentOpp. wRC+ vs. LHP (rank)Opp. wRC+ vs. RHP (rank)FDDK1Gerrit ColeAstrosvs. OriolesN/A83 (24th)$11,200$12,2002Clayton [email protected] Giants66 (30th)N/A$10,700$11,2003Jacob deGromMetsvs. RockiesN/A87 (21st)$10,300$9,4004Mike [email protected] MarlinsN/A79 (T-27th)$10,800$11,6005Domingo [email protected] IndiansN/A82 (T-25th)$8,100$9,5006Brandon WoodruffBrewersvs. PiratesN/A96 (16th)$8,600$7,8007Cole HamelsCubsvs. Cardinals100 (T-12th)N/A$7,900N/A8Tyler [email protected] PhilliesN/A93 (T-18th)$7,600$7,3009Lance LynnRangersvs. A’sN/A95 (17th)$9,600$9,70010Marcus StromanBlue Jaysvs. D-backsN/A86 (22nd)$7,400$8,20011Matthew BoydTigersvs. Twins130 (2nd)N/A$10,100$10,40012Michael [email protected] TigersN/A73 (30th)$7,500$6,40013Merrill [email protected] Blue JaysN/A78 (29th)$7,200$8,40014Zach EflinPhilliesvs. RedsN/A82 (T-25th)$8,300$8,70015Yonny [email protected] Red SoxN/A108 (T-9th)$6,500$8,10016Marco [email protected] Angels96 (15th)N/A$6,300$6,90017Andrew HeaneyAngelsvs. Mariners109 (7th)N/A$9,400$9,20018Miles [email protected] CubsN/A109 (T-7th)$7,700N/A19Zach PlesacIndiansvs. YankeesN/A114 (T-4th)$7,000$7,00020Erick [email protected] PadresN/A88 (20th)$5,800$8,00021Rick PorcelloRed Soxvs. RaysN/A114 (T-4th)$7,500$7,10022Antonio [email protected] MetsN/A98 (T-12th)$6,400$6,50023Homer BaileyRoyalsvs. White SoxN/A93 (T-18th)$6,000$4,50024Brett AndersonA’[email protected] Rangers86 (23rd)N/A$6,200$6,00025Nick MargeviciusPadresvs. Nationals121 (4th)N/A$5,900$6,30026Ivan NovaWhite [email protected] RoyalsN/A98 (T-12th)$6,800$5,00027Jose UrenaMarlinsvs. BravesN/A97 (T-14th)$7,300$7,50028Drew PomeranzGiantsvs. Dodgers109 (7th)N/A$6,100$6,70029Rookie [email protected] BrewersN/A100 (11th)$5,500$5,70030Gabriel [email protected] AstrosN/A119 (T-2nd)$5,600$4,800wRC+ is defined by Fangraphs as “[measuring] how a player’s wRC compares with league average after controlling for park effects. League average for position players is 100, and every point above 100 is a percentage point above league average. For example, a 125 wRC+ means a player created 25% more runs than a league average hitter would have in the same number of plate appearances. Gervonta Davis demolishes Ricardo Nunez by second-round TKO, calls out Tevin Farmer

first_imgGervonta Davis had two artists — Casanova and Lil Baby — walk him out to the ring in front of a raucous crowd of 14,686 at Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore for his homecoming fight Saturday. After that, “Tank” only needed two rounds to defeat Ricardo Nunez by TKO, retain his WBA super featherweight title and bring his knockout streak to 13 fights. First knockout in five years for @gamboa , as he sends @Romancito77 to the canvas for the second time in round 2. #GamboaMartinez | #DavisNunez pic.twitter.com/nf08k4eR3S— SHOWTIME Boxing (@ShowtimeBoxing) July 28, 2019The Cuban fighter already wanted a shot at Gervonta Davis heading into this bout, and this performance will certainly inch him closer to that — especially if negotiations between Davis and Farmer stall or fall flat.Ladarius Miller wins controversial split decision (96-93, 96-93, 95-94) over Jezreel CorralesA bitter loss to swallow for Corrales, who was controversially deducted a point in the 10th round, paving the way for Miller to win a razor-thin split decision. The point was deducted when the fighters got tangled up in a clinch and Corrales held onto Miller, who threw his opponent to the ground. The referee deducted the point from Corrales, believing that he was holding, although he could have easily just given him a warning or let it go altogether. What would have been a split draw got pushed to a narrow decision for Miller instead. After the bout, Dock said he felt Nunez was “defenseless,” and it appeared that way to Sporting News as well.”It means a lot,” Davis said of the victory in his hometown. “It’s just not a win for me, but it’s a win for Baltimore.”After that, Davis (22-0, 21 KOs) made it clear who he wants to fight next — IBF super featherweight champion Tevin Farmer, who was in action at the same time and got past Guillaume Frenois in the co-main event to Maurice Hooker-Jose Ramirez in Dallas and on DAZN.”I want Tevin my next fight,” Davis said bluntly.”It can be made,” he continued, referring to himself being under Mayweather Promotions and Farmer being a Matchroom Boxing fighter and the drama that could bring. “Let’s get it on later this year.” . @Gervontaa wants @TevinFarmer22next #DavisNunez pic.twitter.com/1Z5OgIrsIh— SHOWTIME Boxing (@ShowtimeBoxing) July 28, 2019 Farmer said on DAZN after defeating Frenois that although “Tank” wants the fight to happen, he’s not sure Davis’ camp will let the unification bout take place just yet. How does Tevin Farmer see a fight with @Gervontaa playing out?”Tell him sign the contract & we can see at the end of the year.” – @TevinFarmer22 🍿🗣️ pic.twitter.com/6bOQ0G05pC— DAZN USA (@DAZN_USA) July 28, 2019 Perhaps Floyd Mayweather Jr. summed up Davis’ homecoming and his charge’s future best.”This is a pay-per-view star,” Mayweather said before embracing Davis in the ring. “He has the charisma, the will to win, he works extremely hard, he has a great team, and the only thing we can do is continue to push him and help him go to the top. He’s one of the top guys, pound for pound, right now.”Yuriorkis Gamboa blasts Roman Martinez via second-round KOGamboa used a four-punch combination to register a scintillating knockout, his first in five years, and cap a night where he looked ultra-impressive.last_img read more

2019/20 BDFA Super Division: South United thump listless MEG

Powered by Firework South United FC’s clinical performance completely outshone their opponents in a 2-0 victory.Advertisement South United outclassed MEG in the 2019/20 BDFA Super Division league with a well-settled 2-0 win here on Tuesday.Advertisement The fairly small audience at the Bangalore Football Stadium today were in for a spectacle as both Abhilash (37th Minute) and Magesh (92nd Minute) scored for SUFC while MEG were unable to convert any of their Goal-scoring Opportunities. The game was initially well-controlled by MEG, with a fair amount of chances created by the MEG Winger Imnaakum, but as the game progressed, it was clear that SUFC was gaining the upper hand.Advertisement The deadlock was broken in the 37th Minute by the SUFC forward Abhilash through a pin-point pass by Rungsing. After the goal was scored, MEG started playing more cautiously and attempted to counter SUFC’s attack with a lot more stability. Their best chance came in the 43rd Minute when a free kick very close to the penalty box of SUFC nearly converted into a goal.During the 2nd half, it became clear that though MEG played more aggressively, they were unable to retain possession and were easily beaten in SUFC’s counter-attacks, thanks to the energy and pace of the Winger-captain Aaron, midfielder Rungsing and the Full-backs Krishanu and Satish. The biggest clash in the game saw a fight emerge between SUFC and MEG during the second-half, resulting in red cards for both SUFC’s Midfielder Alex and MEG’s VinodMagesh then made it even harder for MEG to equalise the game by scoring a well-fought goal through a incisive pass into the penalty box by the substitute David, thus settling the game in the 92nd minute.Result: South United FC 2-0 MEG (Abhilash 37’; Magesh 90+2’) Advertisementlast_img read more
