Chase Andersen walked to load the bases again.  Kayla Burrell singled scoring Crawford and Tori Gemellaro (running for Moran).Bella Kieran was called out at the plate in a controversial call negating a big scoring chance for Wilmington in the sixth. In the seventh, Kayla Bourrell reached on an error and immediately stole second.  She scored on a defensive error by the Spy Ponders’ right fielder. Unfortunately, the Wildcats had runners on first and second but could not get the timely hit they desperately needed. The Wildcats also made some errors on routine during the day.  There was a lack of communication on some plays which resulted in the ball just dropping between the players.“The plate umpire had a small strike zone today,” said Coach Audrey Cabral. “Both pitchers threw a lot of  pitches especially in the first inning… Arlington was just more patient at the plate today.”Like Wilmington Apple on Facebook.
